The Chicago Bears – A Hopeful 2010 Season

The Chicago Bears have been one of NFL's favorite teams for many years, and the '09 season didn't appear to be any different. The Bears started their career, in professional football, back in 1919, making them one of the oldest teams in the NFL today. The team played so well, even back in the day, that they didn't even know what a losing streak was, not until 1929. In 1921, the Bears began playing against the Green Bay Packers, which is still their #1 rival; these two teams have been battling it out on the field for years with no end in sight. In 1922 the Chicago Bears took on the colors they have today, yet another constant the team has been lucky enough to experience over the years.

Wrigley Field, another popular field to Chicagoans, was used as the Bears' stomping grounds in the old days, mostly for scrimmage games. The team, obviously, needed a stadium they could call home, which they had not too long after they were a team, a stadium we all know as Soldier Field. Over the years the stadium has taken a lot of abuse, and required quite a bit of remodeling. The entire stadium was pretty much tore down and rebuilt by 2003, leaving only one wall from the original stadium. The new stadium was so different and new, in fact, that it was even renamed the Soldier Field II.

Whether on the road or playing at home, fanatics love to watch the Bears play live. Bears ticket sales are up in the top 20 highest team sales in the league, and in NFL history. Additionally, they have one of the greatest cash flows in NFL history with $1.1 billion. The Bears solid past and the training they continue to do make them a strong candidate for the 2010 season. Not only does the team have a solid reputation, coaching staff, and good players, they have brought new blood on the team in 2009, none other than Jay Cutler. Cutler is one of the leagues greatest quarterbacks, and recently left the Broncos to play with the Chicago Bears.

Over the many years that the Bears have been providing solid entertainment for sports fanatics, they have retired more than ten numbers. Some of these retired numbers were from original players like George Halas and McAfee, Bill George, Harold Grange, and Sid Luckman. Walter Payton, loved and adored from the 80s, is yet another retired number along with Bill Hewitt, Dick Butkus, Clyde Turner, Gayle Sayers, Brian Piccolo, Bronko Nagurski, and Willie Galimore. The Chicago bears have deep history, and have made a name, for them, that will stand through time. Their fans support the Bears in a manner that would nearly make you believe they were part of the team.

Football fans experience adrenaline like no other when watching a game, especially live, but nothing compares to the adrenaline a Chicago Bears fan experiences while sitting on the edge of their seat at Soldier Field II. In fact, Bears games are so thrilling you don't even have to be a fan to feel as if you are in the game; they will keep you begging for more. You must see the Bears live in 2010 as it will be phenomenal season.
